UNIFIL: The deliberate and direct destruction of un property is a violation of international law

Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford joins live from the Lebanese capital Beirut. He says the challenges facing UNIFIL amid escalating violence. Stratford added that according to a deputy spokes-person for UNIFIL, since October, their personnel and property have faced 40 instances of dam-age and injuries, eight of which are attributed to Israeli forces. He says that UNIFIL, tasked with peacekeeping in southern Lebanon since 1978, now operates under severe strain within a highly volatile zone, facing regular incidents of violence.
