Yes, you can use a soldering iron to remove a surface mounted device (SMD) component from a board have a look !.
For this demonstration i am using a very nice LinkMicro LM210s Microscope in help of my tired eyes ! An affordable but very good product with 4k / 60 FPS clear image.
Here´s a link to it https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/E4CD3FB4-BCCC-44B8-87E1-0BC20D78CA73?ingress=0&visitId=60ed0fb4-e4e3-478c-bd64-1a9e847fab5d
Here are the steps to follow for the process:
Tools: You'll need a soldering iron, flux, and some solder. You can also use a desoldering gun or a hot air station.
1) Apply flux: Apply a generous amount of flux to the area you want to desolder.
2) Heat the solder joint: Use the soldering iron to heat the solder joint until it melts.
3) Pull away the component: Once the solder is melted, you can use the soldering iron tip to push the component off the board.
4) Clean up: Use isopropyl alcohol wipes to clean up any remaining flux.
That´s it.
Thanks for watching and hope this video is useful !
