Bangladesh ex-PM Sheikh Hasina charged with crimes against humanity

Prosecutors for the International Crime Tribunal in Bangladesh have charged former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with crimes against humanity. The allegations are linked to last year's security crackdown on a student-led uprising against a job quota system. The UN said up to 1,400 people were killed and thousands injured between July and August 2024.
